H+ Hotel Willingen

The H+ Hotel Willingen (part of the H-Hotels group) is located in Usseln, a village about 5 km from the centre of Willingen. The 3-star hotel has 102 rooms and is often the cheapest hotel in the area with its own pool: rates start at about €75 and spa access is included in the room price.

Spa and wellness

The centrepiece is the 60 m² indoor pool, open daily from morning until late evening. It is joined by a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, an infrared cabin (a heat cabin with infrared panels) and a Roman bath (a mild warm-air bath with high humidity). The area is functional rather than fancy: solid basics instead of a large sauna landscape, but with no surcharge.

Who it suits

• Budget-conscious guests who want pool and sauna included in the rate
• Hikers and cyclists starting straight from the hotel
• Families: family rooms of approx. 42 m²
• Guests with dogs: up to 2 dogs, approx. €15 per night
• Less suitable if you want Willingen’s village centre within walking distance

Good to know

The in-house restaurant serves a breakfast buffet, coffee and cake in the afternoon and a dinner buffet in the evening. Usseln station is about 1 km away and parking at the hotel is free. The centre of Willingen with its shops and après-ski is about 5 km away; in return, Usseln is noticeably quieter. For high-end wellness expectations the offering is deliberately simple, but as an affordable base for an active Sauerland holiday with a daily swim, the concept works well.
