No cookies, no tracking on this site
This website does not set any cookies itself and does not use any analytics or tracking services that would require consent. That is why there is no cookie banner.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted as a static website with Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, date and time, requested URL, user agent) to deliver the site and fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, fast site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; a data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses is in place.
Audience measurement (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless audience measurement tool. It sets no cookies, performs no fingerprinting and builds no individual user profiles; it reports aggregated figures such as page views, referrers and load times. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding our reach (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); consent is not required, as no information is read from or stored on your device.
Booking links (affiliate)
Our booking links to Booking.com (Booking.com B.V., Amsterdam, Netherlands) are advertising links routed through the affiliate network CJ Affiliate (operated by Conversant LLC, USA). Only when you click do you leave our site: you are then briefly routed via a CJ redirect address that attributes your booking to the network and, for this purpose, processes a cookie on the CJ domain and technical connection data (including IP address and time of click) before you arrive at the Booking.com target page. The legal basis for this redirect is our legitimate interest in the remuneration of our site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); the USA is a third country (transfer based, among other things, on standard contractual clauses). The links do not set any cookies or collect any personal data on our own site; the CJ cookie only arises after the click, off our site. Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21).
